So I thought about this idea while laying in bed one day, if private blog pyramids work so well, why wouldn't a internal link pyramid have the same results for onsite seo?

My Plan: 5 Pages of 500 word handwritten and researched keyword based articles. Three posts linking to each article as a nofollow. The rest of the posts linking to the other 15, but as ********. The reason behind the no follow for level B is the simple idea that I don't want google blacklisting me in future updates. It still allows info to travel to the main pages, but it doesn't index them. Well, that doesn't matter, I have research and implemented a perfect way to index every page of my site very, very quickly. Thanks to blackhatworld that is (; The point of the website is to point traffic to my personal amazon store, not affiliate. It's set up as a video auto blog, but I've litterally ranked in the top 100 for 6 keywords within 2 weeks of making the site without a single post or page with more then one sentence of content. I just got my content delivered that I ordered from fiverr and I know for a fact I will never order anywhere else.

So, is this idea legitimate, or will it do nothing, or even get me blacklisted? Thanks for your time!

I think what you think you have "invented" and are calling an internal link pyramid has been around under the name/banner of a "SILO", as in "SILOing" a site, or a site that's been "SILO'd".

As I understand a SILO, the site is constructed with a very strict discipline so that all the target/focused keywords are semantically relevant and that all of the links from within the site are strategically aimed to pages within the site only. I'm very interested in this method as I've heard the results can be extraordinary however I find very little documentation of it, nor do other Members here seem particularly interested in discussing it.

There are other posts on this forum that discuss SILOs and I've read them all. There is one about a WP plugin that is supposed to help with the SILOing of a site.

One thing I'm clear on is that a SILOed site has NO outbound, off-site links as whatever internal juice the SILO has created gets sent "somewhere else".

Well, the linkjuice surely is sent up the structure, just like in any other site. The articles point to the categories, and they point to the domain. As I understand "SILOing", as it's called, is grouping together closely related terms and not letting their juice go to less related terms in the structure. Each category is a silo with subcategories and articles which don't link out to the other silo's.

An example might be a health related site, with with three silos: Fitness, Dieting, and Health. They are related, but somewhat distinct and the juice doesn't leak from one silo to the other. At the end of the day it is all about which pages link to which.

All sites are essentially link pyramids, tapering towards the main index. With silos you just have mini pyramids below. That's what I thought it was at least, no doubt someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Nigel, do you have a link to a site that uses this process of linking the keywords semantically?

This seems to be very benificial as you take a nich and expand it in small steps first by using synonyms of the first keyword. The visitor stays on site longer and for lack of a better term; goes deeper into the rabbit hole.

With no outbound links it would seem that you would have to create internal links to a high quility page that would mimic the link that would have been an outbound link.

No, as I said there isn't much hard-core documentation that I can find. Methuselah's post gives a good idea of the idea of individual SILOs. You could think of "Fitness" as one pyramid, "Dieting" as another and then "Health". Then do research on each, as if the "Fitness" page was the home page of a separate pyramid, with semantically relevant "support" pages below it.

And note also that there is no reason why you cannot do external backlinking INTO the SILOed website, the main thing to NOT do is send that "fitness relevant juice" to anywhere but the top of the Fitness SILO, and from there to the Home Page. Note this is SILO as I imagine it to be. I could be completely wrong on this.

Nigel, your a 100% correct on the sending the juice to the top of the silo. From what little I have read if you do link from low in the silo to a low in the other silo it must be a no follow link (easy to remember "low to low is no") and when you link back to the top of the silo it must be relevant so the fitness link back to dieting should be in the form of a study linking how your keyword term fitness ie... "exercise" will change and becomes (following a personal training program) increases the probability of staying on your keyword "vegan 80-10" diet-becomes (eating healthy foods) to broaden the use of synonyms as you re-link to the top of the silo and go deeper with your fresh unique content repeating the process again with the new synonyms as your new base keywords for 5 or 7 articles deep into the new silo.

At least I think that's what you do; this is brand new to me last night when I first read your post. BTW I have a link to a site were the guy that coined the name silo for this method and he works a case study were he takes a real site for a large .org that is all over the place with their content and redesigns the site into neat silos. I'll pm you the link so you can decide if its worth posting on the form. I will of course have to find it I was on the i-pad in bed last night till 3 am researching this stuff.

We're getting distracted guys. It's not a silo, I can guarantee that.
    ( Product Page)
(Page One = 1 of 5 Main keywords linking do follow to product page, thus increasing serp for website and product)
(Post 1 Post 2 Post 3 = Same Keyword = No Follow Link in post linking to Page One)
(Post XYZ long tail and alternative keywords = Follow Link in the post, linked to one of the three posts)
This x 5 and Also I'll have the posts under the main keyword as a category.

So there's the product page as earning "site" thus being level one.
There's 5 pages, being constant non ending traffic, linking to site do follow. so level 3 has 5 constant pages
level 3 has 15 posts, grouped into 3 groups of five, linking to related keyword no follow as a buffer for level 4
level 4 do follow to the 15 pages, same, alternative and long tail keywords 10+ per page, constant new content.
Every type of content from level 2-3 will have one of the 5 keywords as a category. As not to get demoted, the level 4 posts will all be given the same category, that is not one of the 5 keywords, but the most valuable long tail keyword.

Also, I'm not selling associates, as I live in a nexus state. I'm selling my own product.

So back to the main question, if and how will this effect my site.

To answer your question in all fairness as to the fact that yes the thread has created its own legs an has become more about siloing than you question about linking videos and content ( the same way you do in silo structured website) to an amazon page. Yes what your doing linking and doing the quick youtube to scrugoogle index thru the web masters tools is great and it will not affect your site in a bad way. You just need to keep updating new videos at least once per week on your long tail KWs.
