Internal link building question

Hello everyone,

I have two questions about internal linking:

1) Can a page lose seo juice/ranking if it has internal links pointing to another pages from the same website? I have some pages that are ranking well and I am afraid they may lose ranking if I place links to new pages or pages that are not ranking well.

2) Let's say I have case study page and a service page. The service page is my priority. Should I place links from the case study to the service page only or place links on both pages to each other?

can't respond to the 1st question cause I don't know the answer (and I'd like to know that, too, to be honest).

But regarding question #2 the answer is "it depends". If it makes sense for your visitors to access the service page from the content on the case study page and vice-versa, then placing links on both pages will make sense and will not get you into troubles with neither google, or your site's visitors because it helps them discover things that they're interested in.
 
it is 2021 and IMO these things have little to no-effect on SEO and ranking unless you are a massive site with a lot of authority. Internal linking should be made for human navigation that serves the purpose of directing users to a particular product or service that you want the visitors to buy or get informed. Other considerations are redundant.

Learn to test, it's the only way you'll know. If your scared of losing rankings, create a test website for the purpose of this question and any further questions you have.
 
Forget all SEO oriented advice about internal linking and create an internal linking structure that Is helpful for your site visitors.
While linking internally (in content body), just ask yourself: If you are reading that article would you like to have more information about this? If yes, then link your relevant page.
Also don't use "open in new window" for such links. Why? Because if user want, he can right click and open it in other window. But if you have already added target_blank tag, there is no way for user to open that link in current tab.
For onpage SEO, whenever in doubt, do the thing that is most beneficial for your site visitor.
Have faith in Google. It will reward you.

And about navigation links. Create well defines silos.

I have not yet made internal linking process of my website as I have migrated from Google's free blogspot version to paid domain. Will google consider my internal links after long period of 5 years. As if now I am active on my new purchased domain and regularly posting two new posts in a week.

For search engine optimization, it is often enough to make small changes to some sections of the site
