Interlinking Sites In Same Niche?

Hey guys,

I'm a real estate agent, and have set up 2x sites in the niche, targeting hundreds of suburb-specific keywords, but predominantly "City Real Estate" and "Real Estate City".

It's not super-competitive, but it's quite low traffic. If I can hold the top 2 positions, I'll be doing pretty well for myself.

The two sites are:
- A lead capture site, for people looking to sell their home
- A personal website, showing my listings, and having info about selling .etc

The first one converts better due to its specific design, the second markets me better, I effectively want the best of both worlds, and to dominate the niche.

My Question:
Should I interlink the sites? They're both registered to me, and they're both on the same hosting account, so the links will obviously be devalued, but would it be worth putting some links between them? Could I be penalised for a link exchange? I've just never been in this circumstance before.

I've domains: www.e-m-d.com and www.emd.com

Both are 3 words exact match domains, and I have #1 and #2 on Google local searches. And I link between them, also because you have to link out to related sites, so its perfect

Thanks for that, I'll follow what you've said and interlink them

Since your sites are on the same hosting account, interlinking can get devalued. I hope you find some good sites in your niche to link with.

as Anvin said Just bcoz of same host. it might not be good idea to interlink.. but it can work also. anyway better to find out other site on other host for perfect output.

P.S: It will not hurt any of your site if you interlink them. bcoz of same niche

This is what I was thinking, it probably won't hurt, so I may aswell do it and see if it helps my efforts.

I don't see the point in changing hosts now, They're both AU domains, meaning I had to give business details to even register the domains, so it's a big enough footprint to let Google know the same guy owns them - besides that, same analytics account, same webmaster tools, the works.
