Interesting search results in Google

I am currently using ranktracker to track my campaigns. I am not doing any excessive searches or using excessive resources from Google, but what is very intertesting is that when I check one of my websites for a keyword (it is currently ranked 86 in RankTracker) it actually shows at position #3 when I check on my laptop. In other words, it is as if Google knows that I am trying to check the keyword and is showing me results that are not real. If I check the same exact search on my iphone, I see it as it really is #86. It is like Google is tracking my IP and displaying different results in favor of my website - for what reason I dont know.

Should I be worried? Should I be using a proxy for rank tracker?

Log out of google and clear your cookies and try it again. You must have "plused one" your site from that account.

i did that and it did seem to clear the site out of the front page searches.

Yes, you need to log out from your Google account. The results will be different in that case.

I noticed that sometimes results are diferent in Chrome, IE and FireFox. All three logged out. Weird!
Anyway if you are logged in of course G will serve sites you liked, visited or bookmarked first.

Most of the times it's due to personalized search. I have my browser use a custom query string(above) when I search with the address bar to turn it off. Rank Tracker is usually pretty accurate though.

I've been noticing some weird things as well. A site that I didn't own was at #14 last night, where it was supposed to be, but I refreshed the results and it was at #86, for the exact same query.
