Facebook is quickly growing in popularity and usage on a daily basis. The statistics are so amazing, I had to share some fun facts!

There are over 400 million active users on Facebook
The median user age is 33
1 in 3 U.S. residents has a Facebook account.
50% of users log in on any given day.
There are 55 million status updates on Facebook every day.
3.5 billion pieces of content are shared on Facebook each week.
The fastest growing segment of Facebook users is women aged 55+ years.
Facebook surpasses Google as the most important site on the internet.

Thank you for posting this useful information! I am not doubting anything you said whatsoever, but are you sure ALL of what you listed are facts?

I just want to make sure you had references for the above listed "facts." Once again, I'm not doubting you and I definitely believe a lot of what you listed ARE facts, but once again I just wanted to make sure you had references to backup every statement.

Regardless, thanks again for posting!

Also, I think you are going to need more than 12 accounts with 1,000 friends each to make $1,000 per day. This is not an easy task on FB anymore. Well, it is if you know what you are doing, and I am not saying that you don't, but it definitely isn't as easy as it used to be.

What I can suggest to you is to read this forum concerning FB until your eyes bleed, go through a bunch of trial and error, and DON'T GIVE UP!

Dude, that's bloody inaccurate. Given the number of business and people rely on google, Google will continue to be the most important site on the net for at least another few decades.

I don't think the most important site on the net is a social networking site. You said 700k businesses use facebook, I think for google, it's easily 100-1000 times that number-perhaps just for adwords...

The term important is relative. The only thing on which facebook has overtaken google is the number of pages viewed a day. I think you got things mixed up.

And you need sources for those facts..

I think facebook has hardly make any profit until today, while google has been making billions a year for about a decade.
 
@Castansa I started with 12 accounts now. I know its too hard to make $1K with that.I am creating more.Thanks.

@khirad I do it in a very different way, that for sure. I agree that 50% will login daily. Practically i am seeing that in my own FB account. Thanks.

I planned for $1K not with the help of just 12 accounts and with 1K friends on each. I just started with 12 now. Planned for 50 with the help of proxies.

I googled that line, and the only thing I got was mostly links to sites saying "Facebook surpasses google on number of visits daily"... So, I'd say, it's inaccurate to say Facebook is more "important" than google.

I went through the links you provided as well and found nothing about facebook overtaking google as the most "important" site.

You gotta quote the right source on that.

I saw the facebook.com stats said,

"There are over 160 million objects that people interact with (pages, groups and events)"

Then http://www.coffinmediaworks.com/html/social-media-info.html it states youtube has about 120 million videos(general stat I've seen around) and around 200k added daily. Not sure how accurate that is at this exact moment, however the op's statement of "There are more groups on Facebook than videos on You Tube." is a bit misleading as we aren't sure how the "objects" (groups, pages, events) are distributed amongst the 160 million number. And, yeah you can't really claim that facebook is going to become the most "important" site on the internet gauging off hits. Volume of traffic doesn't equal importance.

Regardless it's an amazing fuckload of groups/pages in the amount of time they've had their platform up.

Facebook is definitely not more "important" than Google IMHO. Google owns Facebook when it comes to damn near everything under the sun, and will continue to do so in most areas.
 
I have never felt that Google is 'important' to the average user. Most users see it for what it is: a large card catalog that helps them find information. Honestly, google doesn't even do a very good job of that.

Case in point: How many of your sites are complete BS but rank on page one? Just like any other site, Google can be gamed and often is.

I have seen these "contents",its like saying "100 billions of bits are passing through my router everyday" or "my brain is made out of millions of quadrillions of atoms",does that make me smart?just big numbers, nothing to be impressed,not fun,not interesting.

absolutely genius lol, and facebook_master i would sell you facebook just to not see its legal / server / bandwidth bills.

the real trick questions is going to be, when is google going to buy facebook and make it GOOGLEBOOK!!!!!!!!!


they estimate that 1 in every 15 popular internet properties or innovators get bought by google, i think they were a little late on the purchase order for facebook :D
