I know there's been much discussion on the whole EMD thing and I have an interesting situation going on.
I've got two sites with exact EMD. One is an authority site with much content that I've been working on for months that has, numerous back links, fresh articles etc. in a field of low competition. All I'm getting for action is some very long tail keywords.
The other is a niche site that I haven't updated since June of last year and is number 1 on every major search engine and has been for many months. Site has NO backlinks, six articles and in a field of high competition. Even stranger is this site outranks the N.Y. Times, Huffington Post, Meetup, Pinterest, Forbes, Facebook...well, you get the idea. Grant it the site is an EMD and outranking articles for those same keywords, but still, look at the sites these articles are from.
Why do you think this is?
Anyone in similar situations please comment...TY
