I took a break from my Kindle Journey to catch up on my Forbes news. I came across this article that I thought might be of some interest to my fellow BHWers. I can't post url

I think it's definitely something we should all keep an eye on:

    Nevermind, I can't post links.

Just google "Forbes Xbox One Will Change Advertising Forever"

This sounds horrible. No gamer wants to spend $500 to buy a machine that will fill you with ads.

Well, Microsoft isn't shooting for just the gamer niche. They are expanding its offerings to reach a lot farther out than just gaming. Think of it like an Xbox, Netbook, and DirecTV box all in one.

I think its fantastic. Its not filling you with ads. You aren't getting any more advertising then you currently are, you just have more options in how to convey them or respond to them.

Yes, it's similar. You can also rebuttal that the Kinect makes it way more advanced than a regular commercial desktop. Now the regular gamer won't need a desktop or even a laptop. Everything they need is on the Xbox. Facebook, twitter, etc.

You can modify the kinect to work on a desktop, and within a few months of the xbox one being launched the 4770K cpu will be out,and within 18months the 5770K which will blow past the cpu the xbox one is using.

This may be true, but are 20 million people going buy a modified desktop? No. It's not an argument about whether or not an Xbox is superior to a desktop from a hardware aspect, but from a marketers view.
