Instagress: Automated Likes useless?

Hi everyone,

long time lurker here, now decided to finally get active.

I recently (inspired by BHW) got into IG
I have 2 accounts, one has 17k followers, the other is a new one and has 3k followers now.

I'm struggling a bit with the new one, probably because it's an untypical niche (politics). I use Instagress and although I do get solid (although not extremely good either) follower growth by following people (around 1 in 6 accounts follow back), Likes have little to no effect.

Is this niche-specific or is giving out Likes just generally not leading to new followers anymore?

It wouldn't look too good if I had to follow tons of people to get followers, so I would definitely prefer achieving growth via Likes.

What is your ratio of gained Followers per given Likes and what is considered average and good?

i think likes will work only if you like photos that are newly posted, (a few seconds ago... and has less than 2-3 likes) so your name will show up there and have potential "new followers". so followliker will work best for this job.

I mainly use likes for authenticity, they don't bring that much traffic.

I was thinking about switching to Followliker, is it really so much better than Instagress?

yes, it's faster with all actions (follow,unfollow,like,comments,etc...).
