Instagram's latest updates too strict?

I always assumed it was an aggressive tactic to filter out accounts, and gain data to help them differentiate between real and automated accounts. I do not think they can continue with these hard limits, it will make their platform rather unstable. If people can't grow on this platform they can lose interest.
Only time will tell, but I can imagine that they have gathered a ton of data in these past months. Seeing how accounts reacted to being blocked, the number of accounts blocked on a subnet, etc...

you are never supposed to follow/unfollow on a brand new account. Thats a strict no and you can easily get a perma ban

I do agree that at some extent IG is going wild against normal users.
That's a clear flaw on their side.
I don't believe anyone has a definitive explanation for what's going on under the hood.
The chariot popped back into a pumpkin, but you can still do a lot with just the pumpkin

I didn't unfollow. I just followed some famous profiles, liked some pctures and commented a bit.
Oh ok thank you. So but in the stage of growth hashtags are necessary? I am at 8300 followers now.

I barely use instagram manually now adays, that's even too risky. I'll only post here and there and view some feeds to keep them rolling.
I've stayed off ig & turned off my databases & turned on new automated soldiers to learn, it's war
I suggest you try the same to save any other accounts

My assumption is after elections, here's why:
1) all news channels complained about Russian interference getting trump elected in 2016 (our situation only got worse from there)
2) it was proven within the past couple years that there was agencies/farms full of *humans, on multiple devices/programs & accounts, manually causing discord/problems/etc (bringing anti+pro trump people into the same area for rallies, and more trolling/etc.)
3) instagram/fb knows this, plus the government is cracking down on social apps for allowing it (bots/bad actors/etc), threatening fines (upwards of millions of $) if the government finds bots interfering in election debates, it's already been brought to Congress (may or may not go through)
4) so with government pressure from 2016 til now, I'm sure FB/IG will only push up the pressure slowly month by month, until the elections are here & all over tv, until it's over & said / done a few months later.
Our only chance would be this is just an "election lock down" ,
unless/until instagram gets too comfortable with it locked down for bots,
while at the same time I'm sure they'll have a good idea who's manually using the app or automating, and they will be able to ease up on manual users.
I think they're just collecting data right now with the action blocks, compromised account flags, etc. Then will sort things out by the new year (for better, or for worse). I'm either getting lucky, or noticing more flags than disables (compared to before)

Maybe try seeing if it is a device ID problem, and resolving it that way maybe. Could be because you're not able to post from only that device but maybe from another.

So the answer is to use much fewer hashtags? I always tell my clients to use the max 30 in the caption
Then how would you grow a smaller/new account if you shouldn't you use hashtags at all? Also they're an integral part of Instagram, would be extremely weird if they penalized them so harshly, unless this is only temporary to gather data.
As stated before FB is worried about ad revenue which increases stock prices so engagement will continue to drop.I also agree with their agenda to get rid of bots. Whether there is a political agenda I don't know. But they want to stop fake accounts and fake likes.
Last week I dropped 800 followers overnight. I also noticed a large drop in engagement. Turns out I had accidentally turned on Jarvee on this account and I have had it turned off for two months. It did follow and unfollow but just followed and unfollowed 50 people each a day. I think it picked up on this and punished me by drastically losing followers and engagement.
