Instagram wont like but gives no error message

I have five IG accounts and noticed after running a bot program (Ninjagram) on one occasionally for about a month that the IG account stopped accepting likes last night. The account has about 18k followers, is about 3 years old, and otherwise will follow/unfollow/comment/DM/and unlike normally with Ninjagram and in Chrome and also Firefox and the android and Apple IG apps.

Unlike the rare message I've gotten before from Instagram saying I'm blocked from liking or following followed by a 24 hour block on whatever, this time there is no message at all. On Chrome and in Ninjagram attempts to manually like a post send me to the www.instagram.com feed with no error message, and in the app any attempt to like a post just does nothing, I see the red heart for a moment and it disappears.

This is really odd, and it appears to just affect browser access to liking on Instagram. I know there is no telling how long the block will be in effect, it's usually 24 hours but I've seen it in the distant past go on for as long as a week.

I was doing about 400 follows with 1-3 likes per follow per day before this happened. Those are conservative settings for me, I've rarely had blocks with that in my experience. I also am not using any spammy tactics / links for surveys, ads, shoutouts, etc -- it's mainstream sports and music related posts.

Any idea how common this is or is it very unusual to get this kind of browser-focused block, redirecting the page from the photo that one attempted to like to the main feed www.instagram.com with no message saying that one is blocked from doing an action?

Also when the block is lifted I'd like to resume liking with a browser string indicating I'm using a phone app and not a browser -- is there a direct way to do that with a browser string / user agent ID or are there more parameters than that involved?

this is called like ghosting. It's been happening for years. You see the heart turn red, if you come back later, the heart is white as if you didn't like. Just lay off botting for a few days.

As for any bot using the IG app, I don't know of any. Most, if not all, use a web browser for all IG actions.

I think you have it the wrong way round. Most automate the phone app, and very few do the website.

I know we do, as do jarvee, follow liker, gmt2 and probably others

I've seen this on both the app and thru the browser. The like will disappear seconds after liking the pictures. It's a form of block, not the general like block. I believe it's more associated with the account itself(trust score) and not a proxy related issue. I would try just refraining from liking for a few days, and then try it again and see if it works. If not, give the account itself a rest for a few days, and give it a try.

Hi Rootjazz, yes you emulate the phone app and do it very well, your app has paramaters if I recall correctly that users can set to emulate different kinds of phones, etc. Never figured it all out on your app but I know it works. I use Rootjazz myself as one of my apps to gather info on accounts and i use Ninjagram to follow and like because I like the browser interface it gives me.

I am now able to like again and it's sticking as normal after less than a day, which is unusual for me for a like (or follow or unfollow) block, it usually takes a day to lift, but that's only when I've gotten a soft block with the popup notice I mentioned before, this time as I mentioned there was no popup at all. Likes stick both in the app and also in the Ninjagram browser or on my regular Chrome browser with no special useragent string.

Everything I have in the marketplace here related to IG uses the app and not the web browser.

there is a place on setting you can report it to instagram and they will fix in less than 24 hours happened to me before
