Instagram username using hashtag

Hi. I have found 60k hashtag on Instagram with free name. However theres actually active account with 100k followers using this hashtag with mod. For example I have an account catslovers using catlovers hashtag and my competitor's account is cats_lovers. Should I give it a try or it wont make any sense when my competitor has ~100k followers with similar hashtag.

Getting a username with a popular hashtag might work but since the competitor is very closely related and uses it often, the top posts will be dominated by their username.

So, it will only make sense if your account is already big enough or has the potential to get equally big to fight them for the top posts.
Otherwise, if you have a really small account, even with exactly the same hashtag, it might not help much.
