Is there any algo penalty whatsoever if I was to just post 20 TRIAL reels per day with different hooks and topics OR will instagram spam detection kick in at this point. Would that work for growth? I tried SFC but I have more success with long form. Now though If my followers wont be seeing all those test vids there's nothing really stopping me. Or is there..?

Posting 20/day risks spam flags, stick to 3–5 quality Reels daily for safer growth.

Yep, it looks like spam :O

It is better to manage this reels between different accounts.

Hmm gotcha I could've just posted one quality and split tested hooks I dont want to get suspended

Yes you can post 20 trial reels, however Instagram may flag your account for spam. You will still be able to do it, but the reach could vary if you post too frequently. Check and see.

Posting 20 reels per day can trigger Instagram's spam detection and hurt your reach. It’s better to focus on quality and consistency, posting 3-5 reels daily. This helps maintain engagement without overwhelming your audience or risking penalties.

I don’t think there’s a direct penalty for posting that much, but honestly, quality tends to matter more than sheer volume. I’ve seen accounts post a lot in a day but only a few pieces actually get pushed by the algo.

Ill just do that... some responses I cant tell if its a bot or no lol. All I really want to do is post one quality piece and split test hooks to test what gets more attention

Posting 20 reels a day isn’t directly against Instagram’s rules, but in my experience, that volume can start to look spammy — especially on newer or smaller accounts. You might not get an actual “penalty,” but the algorithm could limit your reach if it sees your content as low-engagement or repetitive.

Also, your followers probably won’t see all 20 unless they’re super engaged, so if you're mainly testing hooks/formats, it could work — but I’d recommend spreading the posts out or using multiple accounts if you’re testing at that scale.

I’ve found better results with posting 2–4 well-targeted reels per day, focusing on strong watch time and saves. That seems to trigger better push in the explore/feed than mass-posting with lower quality metrics.

If you want to test a lot of variations, maybe try it on a separate account first to avoid hurting the main one’s trust score.

Shouldn’t be an issue if your account is well warmed and has clean history just make sure to space uploads out naturally.

Posting 20 trial Reels daily won’t trigger a penalty as long as your content follows Instagram’s guidelines and avoids spammy behavior (duplicate videos, misleading hooks, etc.). Just keep an eye on your engagement — if followers aren't interacting, the algorithm might deprioritize your posts. Mixing in high-quality, longer-form content as you’ve done before is a solid strategy to balance things out.

Its my main business account. Verified. I just want to split test hooks and get more into sfc

Does anyone know if Instagram treats your profile as a whole, or does it treat trial reels and normal reels differently? Meaning, If I post A LOT of successful trial reels, does it mean that Instagram would be more keen on promoting my normal content more?

When accounts get really warmed up you can post more than 5 times a day including for the trial reels, but if it's early on you're gonna need to work your way up slowly.

Posting 20 reels a day isn’t likely to trigger an algorithm penalty, but it could affect reach if Instagram sees it as spammy behavior. Quality and engagement still matter more than volume
Testing different hooks is smart, but consider spreading them out to avoid overwhelming your audience. Also, monitor insights closely
if engagement or reach drops, scale back. Balance is key!
