Instagram to bring in content ranking

Hello my friends,

I am an 'ex youtuber' (if thats a thing) and now working in the 'real world' (whatever that means) but I have made quite a few friends who are prominent in the online world and there is some chatter going around regarding instagram.

I don't know if you have seen lately but many users are posting to their follows to 'turn on notifications' and some even putting up a tutorial on how to do so! This is because instagram may be bringing in content ranking in the near future. Now I can't confirm exactly how credible the sources of this but I thought it would be best for the BHW to know to be careful of this as Instagram seems to be the new 'money maker' as there are so many courses that have been created now to "MAKE $1000000 A DAY ON INSTAGRAM".

If you are just thinking about starting an Instagram business then be careful of this, we have seen content ranking come in for every other social platform and if the rumors are true then it will kill a lot of these strategies. I couldn't post in the Social Media part of BHW so hopefully someone can pass on the word.

I stopped creating content primarily for my own YouTube channel and started working for production companies, I am now a TV Producer for a big network here in Australia.

By content ranking I mean that the content you see on instagram will be seen by popularity. Previously the tool to make money on instagram was the fact that everything you post will be seen by all of your followers because the content is shown by the last thing uploaded. Currently on a platform like facebook the top of the 'feed' is not what was most recently posted but is what is currently popular. Did that explain it?

Nope. He means that IG will follow the same strategy as FB. If you turn on notifications of a person you follow then you will see all the contents shared or else only random contents
