Are there strict limits on how many of a user's followers Instagram allows you to see?

I see several IG scraping services but surely these services aren't able to scrape all the followers from a 500K+ account?
Would IG theoretically allow any user to click on the followers list and scroll for hours to see millions of accounts?
Even if it was possible I would assume the app would crash before you get that far.

Any info on scraping limits or methods on how to get more than a few thousand would be appreciated!

I can't tell you the exact current limits has there has been a lot of changes from iG recently , the max I scraped in the last few weeks was around 200k from 1 user .

But yea, there are definitely limits !

As long as the profiles are public, yes IG does allow you to check someone else's followers and there are no limits added. Practically, no one would ever scroll through a list of 500+ followers and this is where scraping is helpful with a tool like Jarvee. The limit is passive - which means you need to be careful about scraping a definite number of followers any given time since too many API requests could get your scraper accounts banned.

Just to add -

Give or take the follower scraping limit is 8k-10k / 15-25 minutes
If you hit more than that - PV / EV/ Pass reset may happen. Or worse case will be ban for good.
 
You can search IG to follow, but you need a lot of accounts to cooperate, and of course you will encounter a ban.
 
Scraping instagram user's followers that has hundreds of thousands of followers wont give you good results because they are likely to have many fake followers

You can look through IG to follow, yet you want a great deal of records to coordinate, and obviously you will experience a boycott.
