Instagram reels location question

We all know that TikTok pushes your content based on your SIM card, meaning that if you have an US sim card, your content will be mostly seen by the US population, if you have an Italian SIM card, it will be italy that will see your content, etc...

What about instagram reels ? Does it use your SIM card as well or does it use your current location (meaning that you could use a VPN or a proxy to push your content wherever you want) ?

I have a US sim card and want to use in my already existent account created outside of the US with a static residential proxy, but Im afraid the account is doomed to reach US, havent found much about that...
About instagram what I plan to do is use the sim card, with a us static residential proxy and hope for the best... I want to use on my already existent account as well with 1k followers and the username I want.
Currently researching to see if that would be ok, or if im better with resetting my phone and creating a new account with a proxy and sim card...

I use vpn to get an access to insta cuz insta is banned in my country, and i also upload reels on instagram, i can say that i've never noticed any foreign people that've been coming to my profile from these reels

there shouldn't be any problem if you use a sim card from your country as long as you are always targeting the correct hastags and following people or content from USA your content will stay in USA and using any other service to mask your location is a plus, Tiktok is really stric in the way they redirect the views instagram is more location than sim, what I believe you will need the sim from USA is for the verification if I'm not wrog.
