Hello everyone,

So I have a 4 year old account and I've been following and unfollowing for some time now and just hit 20k. This is my personal account so no theme other than pics of me. So with my account I follow a thousand a day and then next day unfollow, then follow a thousand and unfollow the following day. I don't know why but for some reason I don't gain much followers from that anymore. I probably gain 100 from the 1000 I follow. I don't know what to do. I'm trying to get my account to grow and get more engagement because now when I post a picture I only get 400-500 likes which is very small to my 20k followers. What should I do to start gaining more followers and get more engagement?

I suggest s4s or perhaps more engaging content. Commenting, liking, etc... on others. Maybe people don't want to follow you back because they think you will just unfollow them considering your relatively large amount of followers.
 
That's what I noticed too. Some people just don't care to follow back if they see a big account just followed them because they think they will just unfollow them in a couple of days.

What do you recommend to do? I do everything manually.
 
You can purchase shoutouts from popular accounts in niches your interested in and see if that helps.

that sounds like a good idea, however I don't want to spend money. Also how can I discover more niches and which would you recommend for a personal account
 
try liking and/or commenting on a post of the people you follow, immediately after you follow them, that should higher the follow back rate.

is there a fast way to do that? I tend to follow 200 accounts at a time when I do a following spree
 
TRY NEW THINGS!

Try following users that follow different types of accounts. Follow users that follow humor, fashion, or kiddie pages, trying new things is the way to go. if you're doing the same thing over and over you shouldn't expect to see much different result
