Instagram Monetization Suggestions

Hey guys!

I've been reading the forum for quite some time and I started an Instagram account in the travel / nature niche. Im up to 20K followers and I am getting ready to monetize! I actually just sold my first shoutout to a Swedish travel company so I am pretty stoked!

After reading many guides I was thinking of starting an authority site and trying to drive traffic to that site and monetize the site with affiliate offers and partnerships with businesses. I am hoping for a more immediate payout in the mean time. I was thinking of sticking with shoutouts, but I don't want to be spammy so I will keep them niche related only take nice pictures etc.. What else do you guys think I should do? I want to keep this as a long time earner and continue to grow this account to be as large as possible. I have some experience in the fashion niche, selling products etc. but I am at more of a loss for the travel / nature niche. What do you guys think?

Once I have decided a direction to go, I will post a guide detailing how I built my account, how the account grows and the outline of my monetization.

Account stats:

20k followers.

3-8% engagement depending on the post and post type.

Gaining 150-200 organic followers a day.

Using MassPlanner currently.

You can always sell T-shirts, water bottles or other travel related stuff with your own design

Out of interest, how long did it take for you to build this account? I'm an instagram newbie and finding it hard to grow.

Find a local printers / manufacturer, look at the travel section of catalogue, add a cool logo to some products and put them on an ecommerce store using a web site maker + link in profile maybe?

It would be easy to recommend selling backpacks and other useful items for traveling, but I'm not sure if people following these kinds of accounts are actually traveling. I have no clue if this is correct, but I would think most of the followers just enjoys travel pics and nature.

I would try to build an authority website with travel guides that users can read and dream about. Maybe do guest travel blogs.

If they are not really interested in travelling, you could sell them physical photos of awesome places that they could hang up on their walls

I have spent 3-4 months growing this account. I use MassPlanner and repost images popular in the travel niche.

I was thinking this would be a good idea down the line, I'm not sure how "loyal" of a following I currently have. I was thinking maybe sell useful things for traveling with my branded logo?

This is currently the long term goal. I want to build an authority site and use affiliate products and advertising to build a revenue stream.

That is actually a good idea, maybe I will start an art one as well!

Well done on a good start. Honestly don't bother limiting your shoutouts to things based on your niche, it's whoever's buying the shoutouts that's getting the raw deal, not you. Put something in your bio saying you're willing to sell shoutouts, posts or a spot in your bio. Be more careful with who you sell posts too, keep them in line with your niche.

Mass Planner and posting daily content. Make Facebook pages for your account and push it through there as well. Steady organic growth is better than inflated crap

I much prefer MassPlanner. If you are only running one account there is a guide on the MP website to teach you how to get a free Amazon VPS for a year that will run 1-2 accounts.

You could create a really quick store on shopify and begin drop shipping to begin with. This should bring in a steady income for you to begin with.

Long term I would suggest creating your own brand and/or creating an Instagram empire to scale up
