Instagram Login Activity Shows Wrong Location...

Hey,

I need your Help! I live in France, my IP is French, I use the setup below with a USA IP address but when I log into my Instagram account, active location is set to : Philippines... what is this bullshit?

This is my setup :

- new android phone (clean)
- USA residential ip (https://play.google.com/store/search?q=superproxy&c=apps&hl=fr&gl=US) with my home WIFI
- USA sim card (airplane mode on)
- New GMAIL account (USA)
- Google Playstore (USA)
- Location off
- Time zone USA

On this new phone, I tested several sites to validate my USA IP adress :

https://www.iplocation.net/ip-lookuphttps://pixelscan.net/https://whoer.net/frhttps://browserleaks.com/ip
I confirm that all these sites detect the USA IP adress....and the location.

Important, I carried out other tests before with an emulator (LDplayer)

Old setup :

- USA residential ip (https://play.google.com/store/search?q=superproxy&c=apps&hl=fr&gl=US) with my home WIFI (same USA IP as the setup above)
- Location on with the GPS built-in on the emulator, location set to the city of the IP
- Timezone USA
- No Gmail account
- No Playstore account
- Fake Sim Activated

Result: active location on instagram app was set to : China

New test with the same configuration but i used this ADB command to turning off the Sim card : adb shell su 0 setprop gsm.sim.state ABSENT
Result : OK, active location was set to USA and the good city...

Conclusion : It didn't work the first time on the emulator, I think it was because of the fake sim card... Since this solved the problem...
But for my new phone, I don't understand why insta detects the country: Philippines. I try 4 differents USA sim cards...

Try iprify.com and see what it says

I guess something with your GPS is wrong. Maybe try https://www.imyfone.net

I tried and it detects my IP as USA IP, everything is ok, city is good, no proxy detection...

Location is off on my phone.

You have a really strange situation. Next time you restart, check off this site. It has never let me down.

Have you tried with premium version of appcloner?

You need a mobile proxy from US. Had the exact same issue and it got resolved with the mobile proxy. Also, every time you try a new setup, delete the IG app and relogin with a fresh new app/clone. If it's working, just do yourself a favor and delete the previous logins, your accounts will be so much more strong in the long run, trust me on this

Update :

Test 1 : I removed the sim card to reproduce what I did on the emulator, but it didn't work...
Test 2 : I shared the Wi-Fi connection of my PC with my phone to hide the BSSID of the wifi, same, it doesn't work...

Test 3 : I've turned off the proxy app with USA IP and I install this new app : Tomato VPN with a USA IP and it worked! +1

I'm going to try a new app with the USA IP to see if the problem comes from the application or the IP... because I don't want to invest in a 4G proxy.

I'm tired with all my tests... I found the culprit

I tested a lot of proxy app... The problem does not come from that. I thought some of my traffic wasn't going through the app. This is never the case with a VPN (tunnel) but it can happen with a proxy.

I carried out a final test with a new IP address ( USA datacenter) with the app : superproxy (first post) and Instagram detects the location well in the USA.

So the IP that I bought from : https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/proxy-seller-com-4g-lte-ipv4-ipv6-high-quality-private-proxies-lots-of-geo-exclusive-bhw-offer.1094499/ is crap...

Yeah, quality IPs are usually tricky to come by, but it's usually the make or break for this sort of thing. Might share this in case anyone with a similar setup experiences a similar enough issue with the location. Were you able to check the previous IPs you used on sites like Scamaltyics to check for quality?

I tested the proxies on Scamaltyics and fraud score are high...

ISP proxy USA (proxy-seller): fraud score 42
Free Datacenter IP USA : fraud score 59

In my last test I used a Free Datacenter IP USA provided by webshare.io : Location on instagram = USA
In my first test I used a ISP proxy USA provided by proxy-seller.com : Location on instagram = Philippine

The datacenter IP is not of good quality and the location is good... I don't understand...

I think it's the problem with proxy-seller.com I have tested there ISP proxy as well once before and the location was different as well I would recommend go with some other provider

the logical reason behind wrong location for a proxy is that the location is related to the database sometimes some database can have different location for some proxies it's possible that proxy-seller.com has a different database for checking the location of proxy and Instagram has a different database

I thought about it too...

I tried again on my LDplayer emulator with the ISP proxy (USA) from proxy-seller...
Location off.

Instagram detects my IP as being from the USA... This is the same IP I use on my real phone... I thought it would detect the Philippine IP but no. I don't understand anymore...

Problem solved

I found the solution by comparing the DNS of the emulator and my smartphone!

- Here is the DNS ( wifi setting) on my LDPlayer emulator:


DNS set to Google DNS. This is the automatic configuration of ldplayer.

- On my smartphone (wifi setting), DNS is set on my French IPV6 and IPV4 adress.
I tried several times to add a Private DNS provider hostname : dns.google but it doesn't work when the proxy application is active.

After a lot of research, I found a new proxy application that allows you to add a custom DNS, I added 8.8.8.8 as a DNS for google. The proxy app is airproxy. Now, on Instagram my location is ok -> USA

The problem therefore comes from my DNS server of my internet access provider!

i use that dns on my ps4 --- google dns

@julienff is a usa sim necessary for the setup or just proxy is enough i want to Target usa but the sim card costs a lot.can you tell me is it necessary for the sim or I can achieve this without simcard

how long did it take ur account to show USA after it shows philipene?
i used turkey proxies, about account section shows TURKEY
i been using my home WIFI in USA and still shows turkey for 2 months

before login try to remove all your old logins. its proxy problem. we face it so many times
