Instagram hashtags algorithms

Haven't seen this mentioned here so I will be the first. Hashtags only show one picture at a time now and instead of being able to cross through the recents, Instagram show suggested photos. Am i the only one who this has happened to?

I updated to the latest version of Instagram on Android.

It looks the same as always to me.

Do you mind sharing a screenshot to clarify what you're meaning?

I checked both on the iOS and Android app(latest versions) and still don't see anything new.

What kind of suggested photos are you talking about and on what pages?

This is very weird, I just checked to see again and its back to normal... I think maybe because i was liking too many photos from the hashtag as i setup followliker to like the photos that they changed what i could view? I paused followliker for couple of days and now I'm able to view the recents again.. I'm not going to specify what the hashtag was. However if you check #L4L they edited so you can only see popular pictures now. What happened to me was that i could only see suggested and i could only view one at a time- I was unable to scroll down. Maybe signs of things to come?

It might be related to the hashtag. They've added this kind of protection (like the one on #l4l) few months ago due to heavy spam by some users on specific hashtags to promote their products.

Been seeing this in some of the popular hashtags like #sunset for almost three weeks now. It's driving me nuts.

That's only a few hashtags due to abuse. For on #Babes you can only see the popular posts. Hope you're talking about that.

I know what you mean. It's the same for me.
A few days ago when i was clicking on a hashtag, it was showing "top posts" and "most recent". If i tapped on the most recent photo and scrolled down, it was showing the photos in reverse chronological order in the feed. Now it's only showing the first picture and if i scroll down, i don't see the previous photos posted with this hashtag but only suggested photos.
It's not the first time it's happening to me.
