I am good at writing... I want to start account on instagram, but I don't wanna bother with doing reels and showing in front of the camera... Can I grow just by written text and carousels? Or maybe you can tell me a way to make faceless reels?

Help, please! Tell me how to grow instagram as a writer / blogger.

yes you can grow just make good content on a niche topic.
 
Is follow / unfollow still a reliable strategy? Or is it best to just stick to commenting on big accounts in your niche ?

You still can do f/uf but it’s not that effective like it was years ago (only if you would do it on mass with the m/s Methode)
 
well if you don't want to show your face you can post content such as tips, and quotes. You can also use stories with text/questions and polls to gain more engagement
 
Avoid to do follow/unfollow

Focus in reels and you will grow otganically
 
You can grow faceless channel but really depends on how good and atractive is your content, how you present it then people will start sharinig and following you and the interactions you have with your followers too.
 
Faceless channels tend to get lower growth/engagement compared with real peoples. Peoples just like to see other peoples in posts. Off course there are some exception but on average this is my conclusion. A good stratgy to get content in your niche is to look at what other posts are trending on ig that are relevant and create one that is different but inspired by that post. For growing your account you may also use other accounts( or child accounts) to push the traffic and followers to your main account and not add your account to risk by doing f/u with your main account

You can still do it. I always see plenty of motivational text clips with great music and a nice motivational background. With nothing to do with the reels (ie basically an image post), but still posted as reels by adding some music, etc. So I think you can also do something similar.
 
reels is a great way to grow in IG! but instead of just text carousels and post, why not post lifestyle photos (photos of the beach, sunset, skyline for example) and add the quotes in the description? I see those are more popular than text in photos.
