Not sure if this idea has been put out there before, but do you think having a few viral posts in a row on Instagram will give you momentum?

For example, these posts go viral, so Instagram sees your profile/posts as a high quality source and starts showing it to more users. In return you start having more viral posts because more people are seeing them, which makes you look even better to Instagram and etc...

Do you think the algorithm could create this kind of snowball effect?

You’d have to know the Algorithm in the first place to get a few viral videos in a row.

I do, I run a 130k follower luxury page. I thought it was just food for thought on the snowball effect theory :)

The more viral posts you get , the more trust score you get, which equals more reach with viral posts

Yes because the first viral post will bring in profile visits which leads to them seeing the next recent post which then boosts that post and so on...

That's the thing about viruses: you can't take them on a leash and tell them where to go.

All "viral" stuff is totally left field and most of it is so completely silly that you can't predict that. It's when silly content hits stupidity at a certain angle with a spin.

A better approach is to create quality content, and this reliably and regularly.

If you start to get more and more engagement then it might cause a snowball effect.

It's definitely causing the snowball effect and increases trust of your account + gets you more reach. Everytime I grow an account it goes basically like this: my posts are getting 40 likes on average than one post breaks the 100 likes barrier than my posts recive 70 likes on average, than one post breaks 200, other posts start receiving 100+ likes on average than one post breaks 500 and so on. If you post consistently and have solid content this should all happen pretty fast. And I usually see much better gains if I hit several good posts with much higher engagement rate than average.
