Instagram for Charitable Intentions

Has anyone here tried using Instagram for philanthropic or charitable purposes?

I know the majority of us are more interested in monetization, but I'm curious to see if anyone was able to succeed in launching a viral charity campaign.

If so, I'd love to hear some tips.
