To increase followers on instagram you can use various methods. Use appropriate hashtags, keep your profile public, post frequently, keep adding stories and highlights, also come live and be active on IGTV. by doing these activities you will start gaining followers very soon.

One way is to have more engagement with other accounts in niches (hashtags) you want to follow you. You can like images and follow accounts that are posting in popular hashtags. Those hashtags with 10m+ images posted, you can catch people seconds after they posted to be the first to like their image. This is good way to get a users attention immediately after they posted while they are still online.

There is lots of automation available that can help with this. Jarvee gets recommended quite a bit but there are others as well. I personally use a free python script that fits my needs, but some automation (a bot) is definitely helpful with gaining followers and keeping your momentum day after day.

Get an aged account. 4-5 years preferred.

Keep posting quality content and do the follow/unfollow to get traction.

Follow unfollow is good if you're starting out.

It really depends on your content. If there's room for collaborations, do lots of collabs with others in your field to get @mentions and their followers to visit your profile. Of course, you'll need good content for people to actually want to follow you though.
