I am in a new niche and most of the sites ranking are small Shopify stores with little to no backlinks. They do have a lot of instagram followers and (presumably) traffic. The niche is not the most difficult but these sites are still out ranking amazing and a few other big sites. There must be a link between instagram followers/traffic and google rankings as I cannot see how else they would be ranking. Maybe a hidden PBN but looking at the websites I really doubt it.
Has anyone else encountered something similar? I wonder why exactly they are ranking..it would be easy to make a instagram page and get 1,000s of fake followers so I don't think that is it?
