Instagram follower techniques?

Hi all

I have been wanting to setup a account to use for ogmobi and have a Instagram account with 1k on it which im planning to use in order to gather traffic, I was wondering what your best methods of sparking up the account would be (by sparking up I mean gaining more active followers and a larger audience.)

I have the feeling a few people will say the ordinary, (change your account to a fan based one or do shoutouts for shoutouts until you reach a certain amount of followers etc...), which I am happy to try! But I am wondering if there are any other effective/quick methods of doing so.

(Just on the side! It would also help if I could get some statistics if you say set up a fan page - It would helpful to know the statistics of traffic, active users, countries and all the good stuff, of course this will change but some averages could help.)

I suggest uploading viral videos and watermarking them.

Upload nice pictures with watermark and hashtags, make contest, do shoutouts or buy real followers.

Use Social media as weapon for your instagram account to make it more popular.
