i personally see it as spam, mostly these messages are straight up spam botted messages and even my sisters 12 years old could figure that out. im 100% people wont even bother reading 12 lines straight bullshit how to earn xxxx.xxxx while sleeping etc etc etc ...i even know friends that reports messages like that. so i do not recommend stuff like that

You'll get flagged down easily by Instagram for spamming DMs anyway.

Thanks for your input, I was thinking of setting up something like "thank you for the follow!" "Welcome to the page!" Along those lines. Short and make them feel welcome/important to possibly increase engagement or retention rate. I can see how they would see it as a spam though just curious to see what everyone's experience is

I have worked on similar method using mp.
Now as everyone said sending too many FM's is spam but that's not the case when you receive a DM.
In short follow>like post>comment about their post/work say good things appreciate it. And also pitch your thought in comment ask them to DM you if they are interested.
With 45 accounts an avg of 15-20 leads was what I was able to generate daily.
This is actually why I miss mp & old times the most.

it would be possible to automate DM to your followers. but could not DM to your strangers.

A lot of wrong information in this thread. Many people use software to send DMs, to their followers to random users. There is no difference.
Sure if you send spam about fake rolexes / penis enlargement pills etc you are going to get blocked / banned quickly. But highly targeted quality messages you will be fine and get a good response rate from.
I know for a fact people are using bots for sending DMs to new followers, for responding to DMs based on the content of the DM received and using it for sending a sequence of responses (and as well for bulk spamming of all and sundry and churning through the accounts - but they have found it to be profitable regardless of the churn)
