Had recently hired a service on BHW and after a few days of them following around 200 people per day, I got this message pop up when I tried to reply to a story:

They can easily keep track of actions done via IG app vs public bots

You recieve this message when there is sudden influx in actions,Your Account was inactive for long?? Also not necessary if one account has this then IG updated something,Any Growth Service runs tons of Accounts and 1 or 2 might have issue which is normal. And this is Temp block so it seems it goes away in 24 hours, nothing to worry though it's normal.

Even I maintain a Manual Growth agency in US and out of 100 accounts I manage there are 2 or 5 which get soft blocks here and there but key is to run the Service so your Account gets habitual of it,I have one account which got same but now running fine since 3 months.

My account was fairly active but going from following a few people per day to 200 per day was a big influx, yes.
We also sent around 7-8 dm's with a welcome message and a link to my website, would it have triggered the soft block despite being such a small # of dm's?

Links should be no no in beginning as social media in general don't like links much,Without links you should be fine when you begin the Service.

Sharing your account access randomly on the Internet has never really helped and will never help in the long run.

The Instagram algorithm is getting smarter and will catch up if it hasn't already and understand the whole game.
The best methods are generally the ones that don't involve login credentials so at least your account stays safe all the time, try those instead.

The Message has been around for ages. Its a Cat and Mouse battle. Instagram detects the bots, the bots try to mask fingerprints and update their API. I don't know if it will ever end. The only thing i think could stop the Bots is the developers being sued to death or they all get hired by Instagram itself

Considering I had a list of geotargeted + niche based accounts to follow, manual follow/unfollow was the only natural way I could think of.

I understand, it does work but can put your account at risk. So, upgrade the game, get a bunch of child accounts and perform the actions on them.
This way, your main account stays safe and you even get the option to scale up/down whenever you feel like.

I would argue 200 follows per day is too many. Especially if the service you are using is automating, same goes for if they are doing manually as well. Perhaps their system is just not very good. Instagram automation/manual growth is no easy task and many suppliers claim they can do things they in fact can not.

It is a manual growth system (at least advertised as that).
I provided around 10 accounts for them to go and target their followers, but otherwise its a fairly simple task.

That is their standard assumption - they can not see. There are more things involved but you should not really give the account details to other even if is a growth service.
This is big NO for many reason.

Agreed.

Main accounts are too important to be automated in 2021 - risk is pretty big. If you have multiple accounts, it's fine. But if you have 1 and only 1 main account, don't put a robot in between all those eggs. It can turn out pretty bad !

Well it makes me wonder how the VA allowed this to happen. This usually pops up after you recieved 'Try Again Later' several times. So the agent you've hired must spammed actions regardless the 'Try Again Later' block.

Hi! Yes, it may work for a while, but you are not safe doing it. I wouldn't take any chances if I were you. A much safer and more reliable way to create child accounts and develop them with their help.

IG is next to impossible to do anything worthwhile on there anymore. If I were you OP I would invest my money into somwthing that has a bright future and long term potential. It is only a matter of time till all the growth service will go out of business, you won't be able to grow unless you paid for ads or posted content IG deems worthy to gain exposure.

Glad I moved on to much better things.

Yeah, I agree the things are not as it was before 2019, and it will not be as it's now in 2050, but less competition = more money and easy to make if you know how to play the game :)
