Instagram Banned or Hacked?

Received an email about 20 minutes ago.

Opened it up and not a very pleasant message. One of my accounts was banned just now.

Here's what I'm trying to figure out.

1." If your Instagram account was disabled, you?ll see a message telling you when you try to log in. "
- All I get was Wrong Password Entered.

2. Someone has already obtained my IG Name.. When accounts are banned/disabled - the username becomes no good. ( I believe even if you delete the ig name becomes no good )

3. I give credit to all pictures ( this is a nature account ) - and I was "banned" for intellectual property right infringement

4. It was an Email from : [email protected]
- I just did some quick research and I'm getting mixed answers if its legit or not.

5. What's weird is that I actually just updated all my PW and verified all my emails last night.

Adding everything together makes no sense, I'll try to reach Instagram and see what exactly is going on ( if they reply )

Also, I came across a ban appeal form about a month ago via IG.

That email looks shady though. Since you said it showed "wrong password entered", you probably got hacked.

facebookmail.com is bullshit, facebook uses their server with facebook.

Did some more research, I think the email is legit.

I don't think my content was banned for infringement.

I think it was the username, the person who has the account name now always tags a decent sized account which is affiliated the name and actual "tv program"

as an EXAMPLE : If i Owned the IG Name : HistoryChannel - and of course there's a tv show of that.

I'm assuming it can be trademarked and obtained? thoughts....

Does your ig username have the exact tv program/brand name?
