Instagram algorithm past week?

I have almost 40K on IG and average around 40K views - 100K views with many videos surpassing that. This last 2-3 days I got 7K views 7K views and today looking like the same. It don’t make any sense. Is there an update? Will this be fixed you think?

Same consistency. Everything is the same. It don’t make sense. I’ve seen people say it’s an update or something

I have not heard of anything like that. It's weird. But there might not be a specific reason. See how things go next week.

It sounds like Instagram’s algorithm may be throttling reach lately so try posting at different times experimenting with new formats and tracking engagement closely to recover your usual view counts
 
Something is definitely up with the algorithm. I’ve spoken to multiple big page owners and they’re all saying the same. I have a collection of accounts with around 1 million followers total and have noticed a huge drop in reach whereas at the start of this month everything I posted was going mega viral.

Maybe they’re throttling reach and prioritising ads on the run up to Black Friday?

Who knows, but hopefully it goes back to normal soon.

Check you account status. Go to settings and click "account status". There should be an option there to see if you have violated any terms. Remove the post and the account should be good.
 
You are experiencing a very common issue. There may have been an algorithm update or bug, which Instagram usually fixes over time. Your account is strong, and a short-term drop does not mean you will be affected. Continue posting quality content, avoid suspicious activity, and monitor your analytics over the next week.
 
IG changes a lot, so these sudden drops happen, and most of the time the reach comes back after a little while.

Past week half the internet went down due to Cloudflare and Amazon AWS outage so Meta (incl Instagram) was affected too. Also, when they push new app updates on Google Play or for iOS the algo is more strict and conservative, usually after 1-2 days it passes. IF not, then they flagged somehow your content.
 
Short dips like that happen sometimes when Instagram tweaks the algorithm, even for accounts with steady views. If your content normally performs well, it usually evens out again after a few days.

Yes lots of people with good reach (like you) saw a drop this week. It’s probably not personal: the algorithm is acting up IG shifted again to favor original, highly-engaging content (watch-time, saves/shares, retention), and is deprioritizing reposts, watermarked videos or reused formats.

Might be temporary? How long this behaviour you have noticed?
