Instagram algorithm feed is now IN -- for me at least

Apparently, Instagram is rolling out what we feared. The algorithm feed has arrived.

I noticed one of my videos yesterday got only 1,000 views, while ALL the previous videos used to get 3,000 views AT MINIMUM. I paid it no attention.

However, today I updated my app (not sure if it has anything to do with that) and I noticed my feed is NOT chronological anymore. And unlike Facebook I have NO controls over it, AT ALL. I saw on top of my feed (personal account), a pic posted 5 hours ago, I thought it was strange, but it could simply be that no one else had posted anything for the past 5 hours, but right below this 5 hours post there was a 18 minutes ago one... And then a 3 hours ago one, and then a 1 hour ago one, none of them were sponsored. Which means, THE END HAS ARRIVED!

Anyone noticed it yet?

I am believing they're rolling in for some accounts only? Because I logged in in the same device on another account and it's chronological as always.

Also, I hadn't accessed my personal accounts in hours today, and now as I refresh it, it shows the new posts (after I opened it and saw them out of order) as they're being made.

It is usually said that these types of updates roll in slowly, with selected (probably some really selected and some randomly selected) users seeing first? Or maybe it was just a glitch, as the new posts are now rolling in chronologically? But as I slow down, I still see one post 5 hours, then another 1 hour ago, then other 14 hours ago... etc.
 
I noticed it too. This'll definitely put a dent in my activity.
 
People saw changes a few months ago so nothing new is learnt in this thread. It's just that you have been affected.

Instagram told us this is rolling out so why are you acting surprised?

I got it yesterday as well, but it have been rolling out slowly over the last months, so no surprise. My newest post is not affected.
 
I've noticed double the daily followers gain, and a slight increase in likes for my accounts.

Don't mind it, if that's how its going to be.
 
My engagement has dropped by half.

This has been started months ago, happened to me back in April
 
Once again, e.g you will not be able to tell any difference from this change unless all your followers have switch over to the non-chronological feed. E.g if 10K follow me and only 50 of them have the 'new feed' then there is no fucking way you have lost 50% engagement because of the 'changes'.

If your feed had changed, NOTHING is different unless the majority of all your follower feeds have changed.

The fuck is wrong with people
 
The feed on 2 of my accounts has just changed back to chronological, I have noticed a pretty big drop in engagement because of this. If you have an account with good engagement then you will get way more likes with non chronological feed. I saw my likes almost triple overnight on two accounts about 6 weeks back when it changed to non chronological, but now its changed back my engagement has dropped again.

Your feed changing has no effect on your engagement. Others (the people who give you the fucking engagement) don't alter their engagement based on what ONLY YOU see on YOUR feed.

Different story if all of a sudden 30% of followers feeds have changed at the same time - which you won't ever know

So how do you explain my account with 6k followers going from 1k likes per pic to around 3k likes per pic overnight when my feed changed to non chronological? I have also seen a big drop in engagement since it changed back to chronological a few days ago.
 
take a long breath and work hard everything will be fine.

If your 6K account is giving you 1K likes per pic then that had nothing to do with your followers..sounds like you are doing the like method which means probably 80% of this likes arente from your own followers. I had 50 followers doing the like method and a pic got 15K likes.

Your pics are going viral just as mine are on small accounts. Those that stay on the lower likes didn't latch on and would be your normal engagement

I lost 50% engagement over the course of a month, not a few days...

What do you mean by "like method"? Engagement groups?
