Agree with many people here. Ive seen it many times in the industry. Reaching out to the person will be the best bet but they're likely going to want a check behind that and a decent one at that. So go with the yournameOFFICIAL approach or IAM or something along those lines.

However -

If you're big enough - your fans will follow you no matter if you even do Usxr1 instead of User1
