Hi Mates,

Long story less long, we have an IG account we use for our business, a couple of weeks ago I noticed there was a random account similar to ours (keep in mind we are brick and mortar). We reported it but nothing came of it. Last night I noticed my IG account was acting weird and the next thing I know I have IG asking me to verify my identity and all the other requirements. I get an email saying that they were unable to confirm and would be disabling my account.

This was the only place I could run to as it’s quite an important account to us, and I want to prevent any fraudulent posing for our brand. If there is anyone that can help or if you know of anyone that can please inbox me.

Contact them via support and ask the reasons your account is being disabled. You should also use your friend's accounts to mass report the duplicate account.

The only option you are left with is to submit an appeal to IG. Provide as much information as you can like your username, email and other relevant information that you think can help in review. You can also reach out to their support in this regard.

For anyone interested, the resolution took about 3 weeks and requires repetition. If you've expired all of the verifications to refute a ban/disabled account, the only means of quality communication with Meta I've found is through Facebook Ads. If you're truly an Ads clients and your account has a good history of spending, then reaching out via "Ads Support" and expressing your situation as a current spending client allows for a much easier process. You can get a Live Agent in Ads Support who will assist you with resubmitting only if you have quality supporting evidence that the account shouldn't be disabled. In our case we were banned for "mimicking" which wasn't true. Through the Ads support I could at least have a platform where I could refute the claims (took several times) but eventually the account was restored. Hope this helps someone.

You should get in touch with facebook chat support and explain them the issue.

Nice to hear that you got your account back.
Unfortunately, Contact support rarely reply, but it's important to keep reaching out to them. But you found a new way reaching out to them by Ads Support. This might help a lot many people on forum.

You can contact the instagram support through email.

The fake account must have got your account reported for fake. Do the same. Appeal to IG and report the fake account from friends and family account.

To recover a disabled Instagram account, you need to submit an appeal directly to Instagram and hope for leniency. To recover a hacked Instagram account, you can try to regain access by having a code sent to your phone, or you can report the hack to Instagram and request assistance recovering your account.

1. You can contact support and appeal
2. Hire someone to unban you.

In general, the most obvious and logical thing is to contact support, because there are no other options

How do you recover the account? I need to do this today and Meta is not helping. My account has been hacked and is scamming my name.
What was the reasoning for your account being banned/disabled? Each specific reason will have it's own individual route?

You should first secure your IG account better, then contact IG support to report this behavior. Surely someone is impersonating you with bad intentions
