I'v been testing this method with another software program. Only for about a week now, so not enough data to make a solid conclusion. It's pretty obvious that Google measures CTR and dwell times. They have been doing this for a long time. It's just seems to be more refined recently and they are getting better at it. I talked to a guy that does SEO for high end corporate clients and he said most of them have their own click bots like this. So, the idea has been around for a while.
There is also other uses for a program like this (think Google suggest manipulation).
I didn't see it mentioned, but are you going to give the option for dwell time? The software I use allow 0-7 minutes. They also will navigate to other pages within the site.

Does your internal browser have javascript enabled? Do you fake the resolution which can be read via javascript?
