    Hi guys,

I have a question about my website. I am using Greyhad SEO for a site of mine. It always ranked well, but suddenly i had some keywords dropped 10-20 places. Some other keywords stayed the same place. The main difference is that the dropped keywords are not my homepage, but an innerpage. For the keywords i am still ranking the same, my homepage is indexed. What would trigger this difference? Google probably thinks my innerpage is better than my homepage, or they just dropped my homepage out of Google for some keywords.. Is someone able to help me?

    Thanks!
    Mark

Can you provide more details. Like for which keyword which page has dropped. It may be over optimization or Poor On Page or Off Page SEO for those keywords.

Kindly provide more details so i can suggest.

    Let's think about this logically...

    You have the website bluewidgets.com...

You drop rankings from the homepage for keyword red/purple/yellow/green widgets and their internal pages are ranking higher... Why is that? Simply more relevant pages often end up ranking much higher.

In my Ranking BluePrint Live Case Study... I took an old brandable PR6 domain which I purchased for the case study. I added 50 pages of content to the site and guess what... Those internal pages are ranking WAY higher than the homepage.

In this day and age parasites should have been the first identifier of inner pages of strong root domains ranking higher.

I love parasites, but I love having a juicy PR4-6 domain of my own that can have a solid link from the homepage to the inner page and it will rank like it's nothing.

    Good Luck

Your site has triggered an unnatural links filter, that's why the homepage dropped and the internal pages are ranking better. Google is always quick to penalise the homepage of websites when they discover unnatural link building patterns.

Examples of things that can trigger this filter is high link velocity, excessive exact match anchor text usage, and lack of link diversity. Your homepage will return to it's former ranking positions, but it will take some time.

This is like what I am trying to work on help me guys. I found a keyword which I think is great and then I found another keyword related but not the same term I want to rank on those two but confuse if I will try to rank the HOMEPAGE or the innerpages? If i tried to rank the homepage (only one of those keyword will rank?) (do i need to do static page?) or should I just do a blog like which homepage that post the newest post i have? and rank the inner pages?
