When someone says "inner pages", do they mean "pages" or "posts" in Wordpress?
Do they have difference in regards to SEO?

Posting is just a quick way to create new inner pages. They can mean both, but I'm sure most people mean posts. As far as SEO is concerned, it doesn't really matter whether you use posts or pages.

Inner pages means any page that isn't your homepage but exists on the root domain. So, pages and posts are both inner pages.

what about category pages? a page like www.yoursite.com/category/mycategory is useful for SEO? Are they any good to build backlinks for them?
