Inner pages question

Hi everyone, so I have a blog with some inner pages.

I was getting some hits to the inner pages via long-tail keywords.

The more pages I was adding, the more traffic was going up. But, traffic started to plateau and now is even going down even though I am continuing to add content!

Shouldn't the more pages I add mean more long tail hits and more traffic to the inner pages?

It isn't a rule of nature that more content generates more traffic.

I understand...

but why is there traffic in the first place to the inner pages... then poof it's gone...

If we are talking organic traffic, it is related to your rankings. There may be a hundred reasons why one page receives more visitors than another. The most obvious would be that the titles and the content of those pages just contain a better set of keywords (matching the way people search + have a lower cmopetition).

Well I just found that impressions are up, but clicks are down. So I guess there is nothing I can really do about that?

It's weird because clicks are WAY down(yet impressions are up slightly)...

You can put some thoughts into your choice and use of keywords + link building.

If you are talking about the stats in Google Webmaster Tools, it isn't so unlikely. A listing that ranks #10 compared to one that ranks #1 gets the same amount of impressions, but the one ranking #1 will most likely get more clicks.

So if some of your original keywords are dropping while you increase the amount of keywords you rank for (when you publish more posts/articles), your impressions will go up while your clicks will drop

Maybe your quality in your content went down. Pick better keywords and build some links.

try some latest keywords....or keep them changing.
