I recently launched my own site, let's call it, myownsite.com

And I will be soon starting linkbuilding, however the pages that I want to rank are all innerpages.

Is it normal if my innerpages have more links than my homepage?

As long as you get the right links, it's completely normal,
for a website with a few posts focusing on some set number of kinda difficult keywords, it's even better to do focus individually as you'll get a better boost using exact match & partial match links (you'll need others for diversity tho)

In my opinion, using the right kind of internal links is critical for SEO.
There is no issue at all with your approach.
