    Hi,

I recently created a parasite page on an authority site.

However the theme doesn't allow you to add content to the homepage but does allow you to create a blog post, which shows up on the homepage.

When I just searched Google for my site, both the homepage and the blog post are indexed.

And since the blog post is showing on the homepage, both the blog post and homepage have the same content.

Before I start spending serious money on ranking the site, I wanted to ask if there's any possibility of me ranking such a parasite page on the top 3 (even after both pages having the same content)?

Yeah you can rank the blog post if you build links to it even if your homepage has the same content. That said, find a way to make the homepage display an excerpt of the post rather than the full post in order to avoid duplicate content issues that might lead to a penalty in the future. Start by looking for a theme that displays post excerpts on the homepage.

    Home Page:
Try out some coding changes wherein only the post excerpt gets displayed on the homepage.
