Initial number of invites to send...

For all you ppl who use viral fanpages, how many do you initially send invites to get the ball rolling? 1,000? 10,000? 100,000? 1 mil?
Keeping in mind that its always risky for a fanpage when it gets more than 1 mil likes.... especially viral pages... I would say an initial invite of 50K would work best for viral fanpages.

So what do you think? or do you believe its just a numbers game, and the more the merrier?

If i want to invite to my page ill use the full amount i have - Gets it viral quicker

The more the merrier, but it largely depends on the demographics of your friend base. If the majority of them are from the Middle East, they are essentially worthless. Aim for USA/UK/Canada.

ofcourse geographical location is a huge factor and i always take that into consideration. even the sex is an important factor... since there are products i promote that has a very steep conversion for females rather than males.

However i think this time i will send an initial invite of 250k-300k like Peter Shaw said, and see how long the viral page lasts.
