Infractions for insulting ?

Here is my advice:

Keep your emotions in-check and think BEFORE you post.

There are ways to INTELLIGENTLY get your point across
without insults and/or swearing at someone. You will find
that you are respected and understood much better if you
are in control of yourself. Try it and see the difference . . .

Sadly I feel that we've both got a way to go down before either of us can challenge for #1 again. It'll be SA's for a few years I think. I'm talking tests here - the only cricket that matters.

(I reckon the best cricket I ever saw was in about 04-07 when we had waugh, ponting, warne, mcgrath, hayden etc and you guys had tendulkar, dravid, laxman, ganguly, kumble. And we were fighting it out for #1. Two totally different styles of cricket, being played so well by both teams. When we play Eng or SA it's like playing ourselves, but your wickets are different, your spinners different and your batsmen way more wristy with their strokes. While I rate Lara as the better batsmen, Tendulkar was almost as good and while he never dominated over there, Warne still challenged those names above more than any visiting (non sub-continental) spinner ever has.)

That era is gone dude. It was my favorite Aussie team for sure (but not the Indian team though. I like the current team.)! We, the Indian team will be playing SA soon, but don't think we can move to the top in one series. Let's see what ICC thinks!!

Hah - You may have a go at our bowlers (fast bowlers, anyone?). Not at our batters, never our batters...

But all is a waste of effort PartyMarty. We can trade insults and keep at it, while the real top teams like England and SA have the last laugh....

Can't beleive Ishant Sharma turned from a 19 y/o who had ricky's measure into the park cricketer he is today.

And as for the ashes - there will be room in the pommies luggage for some extra duty free - because the urn's staying here.

Why would one talk about being number 1 or 2 in cricket? I wouldn't want to see a dull 5-day match between a world number 1 and 2 while a great match of cricket is going on at some other place.

When Aussies were number 1 recently, and they had those top-quality players in all departments of the game, but, sorry to say, it was rather dull in watching them annihilate/obliterate their opponents. BOOO to them..... lol jk.

It was rather fun when in the 1970's, I grew up watching (hearing the full radio commentary and watching snippets of the matches on TV) the likes of Thomson, Lillee, Chappel brothers, Redpath, Lawry, Gleeson, Richards, Lloyd, Kalicharan, Roberts, Holding, Hadlee, Gibbs, Sunil Gavaskar, Mohammad brothers of Pakistan, Miandad, Imran and Akram, and those people were real cricketing greats of all time, who enjoyed the game and also made others enjoy it!

Then, during the '70s, the West Indians dominated the Cricketing world... but even being the champions, they were really fun-loving people who treated their opponents with a friendly attitude! lol. We Indians loved them more than our own players with the exception of our own greats like Sunil Gavaskar and Vishy, may be.

That's the real cricket one should play, see (we "heard" cricket then -- on the radio), and enjoy rather than the monotonous mechanical one-upmanship displayed in today's cricket! Today, give me the FIFA any time and I would turn off my Cricket special channel in no time!

P.S.:
Anyway, today it is called the Bookies' Game and not gentleman's cricket anymore... Sad, especially for us old-timers! So why bother who is number 1 or 2... it all depends on the side the head bookies are facing at that particular point in time...

Dagreyon isn't stupid. Dagreyon knows full well this would upset some members. I don't think Dagreyon is a moron, and I think skittles receiving an infraction for THIS is ridiculous. It should be obvious to anyone who looks what really happened. ( I.E. referring to a respected & liked member as a moron) Just let me make this clear. There would be some who would be upset for a time because Dagreyon publicly disrupted their business. I support what Dagreyon did. Replace Dagreyon with a newbie & unliked (like me) and I'm pretty sure skittles would not have received an infraction. This does not deserve an infraction, and it doesn't break any rules (imo ofc):

Since then YouTube has changed their system and use other factors to pull videos after they go under review.

What someone says is only viewed as insulting if it's not true. For example, if you call someone an idiot and they are indeed an idiot. That's not an insult. That's just telling the truth. Wether the other party sees it that way is another story. It's all subjective and up to the mods to provide an objective viewpoint.

Ishant Sharma has grown dim over years. Ask him to bowl a good-length ball, he will bowl a short-pitched outside the off stump one.

Ask him to send in a yorker... same as above, ask him to bowl an in-swinger... as above, bowl out-swingers... as above... the result: every batsman knows that he will be getting short-pitched outside the off stump stuff from Ishant for the next 6-8 overs from his bowling end. They waited for him to come on and bowl -- short-pitched stuff at them!

Even during the debacle in England, Australia 2011-12, someone asked him why doesn't he bowl like English fast bowlers and make the batsmen hurry into playing bad shots more often than not... and why he kept bowling those short-pitched stuff persistently that got the hammering all over the park, he gave some stupid answer that it was how he usually bowls and he knows how to bowl in tests (something of this sort)!!

See him bowl... every time... he passes the stumps, the head goes down, the right hand comes over and the ball pitches within his own half first. May be the umpire at his end tell the batsman "right arm over the wicket 5 (or whatever) to go... and most probably a short-pitched one at your 5th off stump"... Ishant is bang on THAT target every time!

Watch this over carefully and watch his (non-existent) line and length: "Ishant was brought back for the 48th over. If you can apply brevity to carnage, here is what happened. Full and wide, four. Short, six. Length, six. Short, two. Short, six. Short, six." The short ball is now Ishant's stock ball and not a shock ball. Result: Over the top into the crowds! That over was consistently bowled by Ishant all over the world in the last 2-3 years. No wonder he is loved by all batsmen now.


He used to be good learner earlier on, but now he repeats his costliest mistakes all the time. If he doesn't bend his back that much to the ground, he will be able to bowl a lot better length and his line too will improve. But who's going to tie the bell?

Watch this video of him bowling to Ricky Ponting at Perth 2008. @00:34 see his head position and watch the line and length... it was an absolutely different Ishant back then... on Perth, he could have afforded to bowl short stuff but he didn't. He bowled at the batsmen, and like the England pacers mentioned above (during the India 2011 tour of England), he made the batsman hurry with his line and just short of a length (btw a great length to bowl by any pacer on the world's fastest and bounciest wicket at Perth)... great bowling stuff that he has forgotten long time back now!
