    Hello,

As you may have noticed I'm a noob here so I figured I would ask a question. I have been reading almost non-stop (have to sleep sometime) and I am very excited about all the new possibilities presented here.

However, I have this problem and tell me if you have experienced something similar when you were starting out in the BH world.

I'll be reading about a method to make some cash and I will get all pumped up and go about gathering the info and other things I need to do whichever method I'm reading about. Then I'll see another title that looks interesting and I'll read about another method and think "hey this sounds even better" so I'll start gathering software and making notes. THEN I SEE ANOTHER TITLE and I start reading that and that is way kewl so I start gathering...

Well, you get the picture. I end up not doing or finishing anything because I can't decide (or stop reading) all the kewl ideas here. My friends and I call this the "Idea Virus". Have any of you went through this and how did you finally get it under control?

    Thanks

    X

Don't worry, this happens to almost everyone. Also, the whole concept of "Hey, at a 1% conversion rate, I would only need this many people to make 2k per day!"

Then the realization kicks in that traffic is hard to get starting off.

Just take action, and when you fail (because I believe everyone fails in IM at some point), get back up and keep truckin :)

I use to have the exact same problem -no system in place to accomplish your goals. Here's what I do now:

    1. decide specific outcomes/results for the week.
    2. write down reasons you MUST accomplish these results.
    3. brainstorm an action plan for the week and SCHEDULE actions! Allocate time needed to complete each action. Then pick out top 3 or 4 actions that will make the most difference.
    4. At end of week measure your results. See where you did well and where you fell short.
    5. Celebrate! Reward yourself for things you accomplished that you set out to accomplish.

don't skip #2. The reasons why you MUST accomplish something and how shitty you'll feel if you don't are what's going to keep you moving in the right direction.

For example, one of your results for the week is to learn new bh strategies. So make it more specific. Learn 3 new BH strategies this week, pick the one that looks most promising. Then schedule 3 hours on Monday to surf the forums. Then evaluate which strategy to implement, and make a checklist of what you need to get it done, and how you're going to measure and evaluate your results.

Thanks! This is awesome. One of my downfalls is organization. I must have adult ADHD or something... LOL I will put this into practice right away!

Lord yes, I'm as guilty as anyone.. Sometimes I'll get on my horse and ride off in ALL directions. What you have to FORCE yourself to do though, if you want to find out if anything really works, is choose one thing and GO with it till you find out if it's your thing. Maybe it is, maybe it's not, but only then move to the next project. Otherwise, you'll have a lot of "book learnin" but nothing to show for it.

I have been considering some outsourcing as I have some liquid assets that I could invest and I would like to get something up and running to help finance other things. Do you have any recommendations? PM me if you like.:D

I had the exact same problem as you mate, when I first joined BHW, I was on here 24/7 for ages, I wouldn't bother to work, I'd just read, read, read, notes, notes, notes, honestly? It was the best thing I ever did, I got it out of the way and I've now got a shit load of notes all around my desk, which one day will be sorted out, but I've got pretty much a back up of the methods I'm interested in, but in short notes on my desk.

I've already got loads of information in my head and on paper, which means I can think of methods quickly, add methods together and think of new twists easily, just spend 2 hours searching "method", writing down notes, keeping them all neat and tidy (I wish I did) then spend 4 hours working on these methods.

Pretty much every method here on BHW works, some may work better then others to start off with, but they all do work nicely, my advice to you/your friends is to simply get to work, if you can, chat on IRC while working (As I do) so you don't get too bored of working.

You'll see some results, then once you've figured out a method, just automate it as much as you can, then spend ages setting it up so you can pretty much forget about it, then move onto the next method while running the first automated method, scale up, automate, scale up more, automate more, rinse and repeat :)

Wow, this is a great thread, haha. When I first found this place I would stay on here for hours and hours, wouldn't even sleep.

Then I found BHA. Just like Alcoholics Anonynmous. Just Joking, but yeah this place will suck you in. You should have seen it back in January of this year. There was so much useful information.

You really have to think of IM as a business. Write out a business plan. Set goals. You can't go to a 9-5 and sit around and read about what you should be doing all day can you?

    No....

So just write out a plan, like said above. You have to have action.

Honestly I got so bad that I had to put a time limit on how much I time I could spend on BHW. This is not a bad idea at all. If you devote 3 hours per day to IM, then make 1 hour for BHW and two hours for work.

It is good that you are reading and learning, but without trying some of those methods you will never know if you can make it.

I wish you the best of luck. Also, I think if you remember that you posted this thread, come back to it when you think you have spent to much time with out producing anything. People have put some great information right here for you also.

    Good LUCK

Open up Notepad, copy the methods you like and think are doable, put your own notes/spins between brackets, maybe even copy some of the replies in that thread to give you some more insight in the method. Save in a text file and keep things organized in a folder..

You just have to take everything in and make sure you test everything out before you go full throttle. One mistake I made early on was sending out a large amount of emails and then finding out after that my link did not work....If I would have tested before hand I would have saved myself ALOT of time

Information overload isn't typical for this forum but for the whole IM market in general.

So, it's important to stay focused with your end goal in mind. I strongly suggest you pick one topic/method and stick with it until you see some results. Then and only then you should try something new.

I also suggest you pick something that either motivates or interests you the most, and not necessarily what you think will get you the biggest profit. This way your chances of really sticking with it are much higher.

    Hope this helps.

    Peter
