    Hi guys,
I have been asking myself question "Is it worth going for Infographics". I have been going closely through many infographics & their sites & noticed that most of them are charging insane amount of money for their work. I do understand it involves a lot of work but man, $1000-1500 for an infographics? That's too much.

    Is anybody here doing infographics?

Btw I've attached couple of infographics.

Do these prices include research or only design (and the client must provide information to be used in the infographics) ?

What do you mean if its worth it? Doing it for requests, or make some and try to promote them if they go viral etc. and brings in orders?

$1500 is not a lot really. Professional logo will cost around that amount, even more, so I would say price is more than fair.

    I always liked infographics :)

I mean doing it for upon requests.

Researching for any specific product isn't a big deal.

Infographic can be done for less if you are willing to do the research and layout. What I did was this:

    1. Searched for interesting info
    2. I then drawed an infographic on paper, sketching the lay out
    3. Made a photo of it and sent it to my designer including all the necessary stats.

    Costed me around $ 250

^^ Ditto, if you do all the hardwork the price can be cheaper. The biggest challenge is how you want the data to be presented which is why in most cases it costs a lot.

Alternatively if you are really cash strapped, you could experiment yourself. There are many infographic PSD's available for free download and if you know Photoshop you could do them yourself.

P.S: Spending money on an infographic can be risky.. the possibility of an infographic going viral is hard to determine unless you really put in some efforts and make it stand out. So choose wisely.

I think it is better to make use of press releases. They can get a lot of links from mainstream media, if it is done by ppl who know what they are doing.
