If you take any kwd that is getting tons of traffic and analyse first page on google you can see ads by google,shopping results from google and videos by google taking more than 50% of visible area.It is leaving really small % to fight for and thb it is usually not worth the effort.

No amount of Insurance's niche share Google took for itself will save it from really awful strategical decisions it made in the long run.
