I have been working on an ORM project for a small hotel. The hotel had a disgruntled employee that left a bunch of 1 star reviews on the Google maps page. I have gotten the star rating up to 4.5, but one the three review quotes in the map box (the one on the left in organic search results) still has a negative quote from the disgruntled employee's bad review. There are over 25 good reviews on top f the bad ones. Any way to influence which quotes show up? Any help would be apprciated!

I found an article that answers my question. https://zerogravitymarketing.com/google-show-reviews-others/ to the whole article. Below is the most important part of the article:

So how does Google choose which online reviews to show? Their main goal is to filter out fake reviews, so they monitor online reviews for warning signs.

If your positive Google reviews fit any of the following criteria, there is a good chance that’s why Google chose to skip over them and opted for negative reviews instead:

  • Google pays attention to how quickly your reviews are coming in. If they notice that you received a lot of online reviews in a very short timeframe, or if there were multiple reviews from the same IP address, then Google will likely hide these reviews from their search results. A slow and steady increase in reviews is ideal because it means they are probably legitimate.
  • Similar to rules regarding https://zerogravitymarketing.com/duplicate-content-seo/, if Google detects similar wording in your online reviews, they will just skip over them and opt to show reviews that are unique.
  • Another red flag is if it is the person’s first time reviewing something. Yes, everyone has to start somewhere, but to Google, it could mean you specifically asked that person to review your product/business, and it might not be as trustworthy.
  • Sometimes, Google will skip over the online reviews that are too positive or too negative. While they aren’t always fake, Google feels that an overly excited/disappointed review could be dishonest.
  • If an online review is too short, or not on topic, then Google will probably skip over it for a review that can provide the reader with more helpful information.

Over the next months like some of the positive reviews including those with 3-4 stars. When you like choose 1-4 to like, not always the same. For some of them go on to Maps referred from your website/contact, if you don't have map there insert it now. From some of the accounts that you like don't post, from other you can post. Create 3 very good, properly written review from old accounts average 90, 250 and 500 characters with spaces. Use Analytics to see the traffic to your site and which are going to contact/maps, and the Google Place to see the time between comments, after that make some math in order to establish your posting and liking time strategy. You can flag the review with your company email and personal email (conflict of interest and hateful), but again be careful at timing because it seems like you want to rush things.
