Indian Remi Hair

Hi Guys,

I am based in India and trying to get in to the hair bizz. If you didn't know, Indian hair is in demand as its used in hair extensions. It's a business worth millions of dollars if not more. Girls in India get their head tonsured as part of a religious ritual and the temple floats tenders to sell these to foreign companies.

I have scouted around trying to grab a small piece of this pie but have been disappointed mostly. The people have caught on these and know the demand of hairs. So, most temples prefer to sell directly to companies at a higher price. I have managed to enter initial negotiations with a temple.

From the current situation, it looks like I will be able to sell AAA quality hair b/w 15-30 inches for $600 per kg. I'm not too sure of the market price though. So, if you got any advice regarding this or interested in buying from me, let me know.

Yep, I would be. But, I am not sure if I should go ahead with the deal till Im sure of the market price I will be able to obtain.

Since it's from your country, you can get more accurate information there. This is the first time I've heard that Indian hair is huge in the market or maybe I'm just not into this kind of stuff like women.

As an african American male, I know how BIG of a market hair is. Most of the ppl who sell hair around me get it from aliexpress?

To the op, is the hair your getting straight raw with nothing done to it. What's the typical procedure done to the hair when bought from the temple, if anything at all?


EDIT: just found the answer to my post by a quick google search. The best kind of hair is Virgin Remy hair, which is basically hair that the op states he/she can get...straight from the source 100% natural, unprocessed.

Another question what determines the quality of hair as AAA, AA, AA, etc I mean if its real hair its real hair. I thought that rating system was for replica clothing lol

you should probably try and find more info about what you're selling before actually selling it. $600 per kilo is a lot and you said yourself you dont know the market.

Regarding the question of the quality, there is no standardised way of classifying. The best quality is considered to be unprocessed(and non chemically treated) hair which is what I'm getting.

Ofcourse, I still have to close the deal with the guys and I'm just scouting around for what these things go for. Last thing I want is few kgs of hair with me which Im unable to sell for a profit.

Yea I pm'ed him the same thing. $600 per kilo is not competitive at all. On aliexpress you can get 5A quality hair for MUCH less.

Do you have armpit hair or pubic hair?

I'm running a hair extension business in Europe and I can tell you that for $700 per kilo, (20 inch...15-18 inch much cheaper) I get unreal quality of Indian Hair extensions and I still can't sell it because the market is flooded with cheap Indian Hair.
People rather pay $50 for cheap chemically processed Indian Hair that only last 30 days or so than $150 for dream hair extension that last maybe 3-4 months.

If you're going to pay $600 for the hair only, processing, coloring and making it a ready to sell hair extension is going to cost you another $300 - $400.
Then packaging and shipment....forget about it.

2nd...Indian Hair is on demand because it's cheap, not because of its great quality...because it's not.
So only way of making money from Indian hair is finding cheap hair and selling tons of it.

When it comes to quality hair, like Russian Hair, it's so expensive you can only sell to high class salons and they want a really good deal to switch to your product, meaning you need to buy at least 100 kg to get some discount and be able to give a good offer.
$2000 per kilo x 100 kg...you do the math.

3rd...There is no such thing as unprocessed virgin hair unless its Russian or from Peru.
Unprocessed Indian hair only last for a few weeks before it starts to tangle and shred.
