India bans all cryptos [again?]

They banned Paypal too didn't they? WTF?
PayPal was never banned in India. PayPal pulled out of the domestic payment market because of too much competition.

The Central Bank (Reserve Bank of India, RBI) wants to ban all cryptocurrencies. They already tax any capital gains earned from selling crypto tho. (and it can't be banned. How tf do you ban digital data?)

As usual, once again FAKE news by someone who is incapable of comprehending things correctly.
Central bank has RECOMMENDED a ban, DOES NOT mean that Central bank has banned ...

They banned Paypal too didn't they? WTF?
Again, as usual FAKE news .... Paypal was NEVER banned in India and Paypal IS NOT banned in India.
Indian authorities restricting certain Paypal functionalities, such as holding funds in a Paypal account, DOES NOT mean any ban on Paypal (in India). (NOTE : An edit was made after initial reply, thanks to info given by @NirvanaWolf ).
Even right now, Paypal has millions of active users in India.

Certain people are incapable of comprehending things correctly and then spread FAKE news, based on their incorrect comprehension.

Indian authorities restricting certain Paypal functionalities like domestic payments in India
No one restricted domestic payments for them. They pulled out themselves as they were unable to compete with homegrown technology UPI.
In PayPal's early days they faced hiccups in India as you need a banking licence in India to hold funds and they didn't want to get one. So they altered the service for India a bit. Instead of holding the funds they auto-withdraw the balance everyday to your bank account.

Lolzzzz I thought how come I didn't know this it already afternoon.
Then I saw the magical word Recommend.
Even if that's about to happen then going from Recommendation to Reality will take some X years.
That's how the system works.

Don't worry there are many institutions here that keep recommending things.
After all it doesn't cost you anything to recommend.

Papel was never banned they themselves just wrapped up their Indian outing as it didn't work as expected.

OK

Take a chill pill dude.

Governments are closing in on crypto worldwide. Not the best of times for crypto enthusiasts.

They like banning crypto. They do it every few months.
Yup they don't like when BHW doesn't have crypto threads.

Just a recommendation by the central bank to the govt and the govt said it needs global support to regulate it.

So if the entire world can come on the same page is that what you think then yes It's happening. :D

I am out of work because of this.

Yeah, I was out of work when I "lost" paypal, almost, or so I thought. It just made me better because it forced me to expand and open up and look for solutions. You're a smart guy, can never be out of work. And if you do get out of work, you'll figure something out and get back on that horse, or at least that donkey :D :P

I was just joking. I am ok with them banning crypto.

Everyone is joking here and at other groups where this news is shared but they can really ban crypto completely. It will affect lot of people working online in India.
