This is exactly what I have been preaching.
Some SEO plugin company out a tutorial and BAM! everyone and their brother wants to use the Indexing API.
If only they realised how trigger happy Google is when it comes to "abuse".
I am surprised that marketers who are ultra paranoid about "footprints" - so much so that they'll not even use Google Sheets or Gmail can be so comfortable using an API from Google, with clear limitation mentioned, on their money sites.
