Indexing Issues Since Google Update?

Mates having indexing problems, were you all hit in the October update? Or are you experiencing the issue with your unaffected sites? Or is it both?
We were hit heavily, however we somehow still get crawled and indexed on our most affected site. New articles reach the SERP, even if not ranking for shit, and the homepage is updating in Google cache.
I wonder the correlation with the update.

Definitely a high correlation.
3 aged sites - 2 got hit by the update, both of these sites don't have their articles indexed.
2 unaged domains - neither have been indexed by google despite having the sitemaps uploaded to GSC for a while.
Appreciated the reply.
In our case, while the affected main website is indexed on its own, other two very similar sites which have not been hit as of yet — are not crawled since 22nd (even the homepage). They are newer with low DA.
Actually they can be indexed but only if we use indexing API, and not every time: seems like only if there are big enough text changes or headings are different.

Seems like those updates are rolling out each week now man. My guess is that they are re-running the spam algorithm with some ranking tweaks, as more are being killed off while some lucky fellows get back.

I'm really fed up with these monthly updates - they're hurting my business badly and the funny thing that I'm getting outranked by spammy content websites.
How exactly in your opinion?

Hi, what theme would u suggest to use on autoblog to make it look less spammy ?
A lot of chatter has been saying the same thing recently.

After the October update, AI almost completely took over the indexing job. Now it's making decisions by itself whether to index a page or not. Even if your articles are not duplicate, the AI created a priority by itself what to index first. Because it's still new, there are tons of errors. But google is not bothered by it. The web is now so massive and with all those duplicate content creator tools where they can literally create 100k pages at home in 1 day, indexing becomes a horror story. Google's approach on indexing was expected. But the sad thing is that we little guys are paying for it. Big guys with their hundreds and thousands of domains and AI content generators have better things to worry about.

OP, have you tried using indexing services present on BHW forum to solve this issue?

I am not too much against this but am somewhat reluctant to try it on a white hat site.
Furthermore, I have read threads and posts by some of the people selling these services and I am NOT impressed by their (lack) of knowledge surrounding indexing.
If I saw that the services had worked for someone after the update, I would take a look and consider it. But these guys really have no idea about the update and from what I can see almost 100% of their work is based around getting new sites indexed that were skipped by the crawl.
Looking at GSC it seems to be some kind of bug or intentional way of ignoring these sites. I don't believe that these services can index through this problem - although I am open minded enough to be proven wrong.
Who knows, one would have to ask the investors I guess. If you notice, all the big IT companies are cutting costs. Facebook only yesterday laid off 11,000 people. I think it's a little bit due to the general economic climate that's plaguing the world, investors probably want to be safe, and so companies are forced to cut investments of possible future projects and review costs.
SEO has a cost to google, indexing sites and crawling the web has a major cost. They probably started by cutting out the less important SEO sites (Adult, Warez and copied content born in the last 2 years) but at this point it may not be enough and other types of sites could be destroyed in the coming months.
What bothers me is that this update has nothing to do with spam or low quality sites, it's just a cost review update imho.

Now its alot better after the update , but still new update surely would fix it.
Well, I am sure they have at least tried to cut more spam crap and less regular Joes.
However, I am positive about the cutting costs thing you mentioned. Many just-not-that-good regular sites may be facing death going forward.

Check to see if your website has been blocked by Google. Some webmasters block Googlebot from seeing their sites as a way to control how their sites are crawled and indexed by search engines.
