I do not use my google search console too much but lately some of my sites got hit by the spam update. These domains are over 2 years old and were getting good amounts of sessions.

I have attached some images from my console. Although the data is not as bad as it looks, some of these are /feed/ and some are /amp/ so they can be ignored.

As you can see - there are a ton of pages not indexed - although it displays that these were not indexed before the update when my traffic was fine, but they actually were.

However, when I check some of the unindexed URL's on the URL inspection tool I get the following:

URL is not on Google
This page is not indexed. Pages that aren't indexed can't be served on Google. See the details below to learn why it wasn't indexed.

Also my sites haven't been indexing any new content published since what looks to be the 19th October

Tagging people who I saw from other threads about getting hit by the update to see if they have the same issue

Same, we weren't hit by the spam update and still are having indexing issues. G isn't crawling our sitemaps, only including URLs submitted for indexing.

My site got hit by the update and G isn't indexing new content and not refreshing old content.

yup GSC shows its falling, and if I do site:domain.com, I dropped from 40k visibility to 1300 over the past 2 months.
absolutely guttered

but October was the first time I made any money, and it's been kinda stable going forward so I have no idea whats going on.
Maybe GSC is fkd up? Site:domain.com in search results don'tl lie though so I'm quite confused

Any update about your indexing issue? I'm just wondering if you still have the problem.

@wa123 same issue.

I have a new site with around 300-400 articles too, only 40 indexed.
Nothing since the update. What about you?

I have fewer posts than you do, and while my old posts are still indexed, new posts won't get indexed at all.

This is actually confusing me because my site recovered from the spam update, so the only issue i have now is indexing new content.

Today my site:domain.com went up a little.
So did GSC results.

Anyone else?

Does your new content (posts published after Oct. 19) get indexed in site:domain.com?

For me organic clicks went back to normal since Oct. 27. But new content is not getting indexed since the spam update.

Focus on quality unique content and keep working, try some social signals or use any indexing service from marketplace.

yesterday i changed my homepage to look less spammy (I run an autoblog site and it refreshes homepage with newest posts).
resubmitted sitemap and cleared caches

and today indexed and search visibility went from 1.5 to 2.5k

@lunapt - both my affected sites had 15%+ increases in google search (from the floor) yesterday. Still no where near I was but it improved a little.

I have made no changes to either site.

Hi @lunapt,
Thanks for your sharing. May I ask what do you mean by clear cache? I want to do the same but don't know.

Talk to support chat to fully flush your site from ur web hosting. Otherwise you might have plugins that can clear caches.

Ask support to make sure ur sitemap plugin is not being blocked by caching
