I am now creating some profile backlinks. Let's say I have a profile link:
hxxp://www.duzhe.com/profile0 which is already indexed by Google (I've checked this from Google by typing site:hxxp://www.duzhe.com/profile0http://www.duzhe.com/profile0)

So, the question is a indexed link = a backlink? If not, what else I need to do to make the indexed link turn into a backlink?

If the page is indexed and there is a 'clickable' link back to your website, then it's a valid backlink, but of course it's only indexed by google, you should also consider checking that the backlink is indexed in Yahoo/MSN.

This is an interesting question :)
For example, I have quite a few links indexed for a specific site.
However, if i go to google and say "link:domain.com" - it says 'Your search - link:domain.com - did not match any documents."

So google sees the link but hasnt officially registered them yet?

backlink is a site linking back to your page.. and it clickable. google and yahoo are different
